Indian Government Sites Taken Down by Anonymous

Just barely a week after releasing cyber-attacks on Russia’s number one government website, the hacking group Anonymous has struck again. This time they had their eye on another country; India.

According to a report from the BBC, multiple of India’s government affiliated websites experienced downtime caused by the group. One of the major sites belonged to India’s Supreme Court. Anonymous has led people to believe that the attacks were made as a response to what they felt was “internet censorship” within the country. The actual message from Anonymous was posted through their Twitter feed.

After the attack, The Pirate Bay stated that they do not encourage the actions in any way and that they believe in free internet regardless of whether they disagree with peoples’ views or not.
